It’s easy to throw around the superlatives when referencing Jackie Robinson. He was a tremendous athlete and had stoic endurance. Above all else he was courageous.
In 1947 when Jackie ran onto Ebbets Field he was doing so under the smothering weight of an entire nation. Jackie was one of the few individuals that could see the big picture and nobody would bully him out of his civil rights.
Jackie Robinson is a national treasure.

Today I reflect on the single most important decision I have ever made. 8 years ago today I married the most incredible woman on earth.
She has endured my personality and continues to challenge me in ways I never thought possible. I respect her more than any other person alive and would give my life that she would live longer. Her kindness is unmatched and her beauty radiates like the sun on it’s best day. Every day with her is infinitely better than the last.
Melody, I love you and look forward to the next year of life in your presence.
I was needing a way to alter the page URL for the main navigation in WordPress, but still wanted the menu to be created dynamically. Specifically I needed a way to attach a string to some of the list items.
The Custom Field came to mind first, but after some searching nothing came up. Plenty of ways to add text before or after the link came up, but nothing to attach a string to the actual href. I went back to menu panel in WordPress to look for more details and saw the obvious Custom Links option.
Perfect. Knowing the the page ID of the pages that needed a custom string, I easily created a custom URL for those menu items. The menu panel in WorPress 3.0 is a nice new feature, allowing the mixture of page items as well as cutoff items.
Problem solved.
If I do come across a way to replicate this with the Custom Field I will share that here.
Illustration is something that I rarely do, but something that I love looking at. There are incredible illustrators on dribbble and seeing their work has pushed me to start illustrating again.
This is the first attempt in a long time, and is of my favorite pipe. Here is the original dribbble shot. Who knows, a wallpaper may come of it?
